Racing Minister John Carter has announced grants totalling nearly $525,000 for 29 projects to enhance safety at racecourses.
The money is from the Racing Safety Development Fund which provides about $1 million a year to match dollar-for-dollar contributions from racing clubs for projects that enhance safety and raise the quality and standard of racecourse facilities.
Mr Carter said the funding round addressed a wide range of projects from horse containment fencing and safety running rails to new stabling areas and tie up stalls.
