Racing: Myers back to Brisbane

Rosie Myers, the Awapuni apprentice, is returning to Brisbane.

Myers, who had success in Brisbane over the winter, will again be on loan to trainer Kelso Wood. She is apprenticed to Mike Breslin.

Myers is riding at Doomben on Saturday.

She is due to complete her apprenticeship on January 1.

Myers is still eligible for an allowance on metropolitan tracks in Australia. She has lost her allowance in New Zealand after riding 192 winners.

• The meeting scheduled for Wingatui on Friday is in doubt after a small number of a nominations and a rain-affected track.

There were 41 horses nominated for the eight races. Nominations remain open and a decision will be made on the meeting this morning.

• More Joyous easily won a trial at Randwick on Monday, AAP reports.

She has not raced since her group one wins in the Queen Of The Turf Stakes, Doncaster Mile and Queen Elizabeth Stakes in the autumn.

"I think it's the best she has trialled first time out for as long as I can remember," Nash Rawiller, her rider, said.

More Joyous won the 1050m trial by a length and a-half from Dystopia with the a long neck to Secret Admirer.

Secret Admirer, the dual gr one winner, is set to run in the Warwick Stakes (1400m) on Saturday week.

Somepin Anypin won the other 1050m trial by a neck over the Miss Stellabelle.

Rain Affair won his 820m heat by a half-head over Squamosa.

Rain Affair, winner of 11 of his 15 starts and more than $A1 million is set to resume in the Concorde Stakes (1100m) at Warwick Farm on September 8.

Rawiller said Squamosa had improved immensely.

Other trial winners were Nechita, Steps In Time, Amorino, Lamasery and Shelford.

Shamrocker, winner of the 2011 AJC Derby, has been retired.

Trainer Danny O'Brien said the decision to retire Shamrocker was made after an indifferent performance in a Flemington jumpout.

She did not race in the autumn.

• Shamrocker was the first filly to complete the Australian Guineas-AJC Derby double.

She will be served by Fastnet Rock.

• Typhoon Tracy died foaling on Monday morning.

Typhoon Tracy, the Australian Horse of the Year in 2010, died foaling a colt by Street Cry at Vinery Stud in New South Wales. The colt survived.

Typhoon Tracey won 11 races from 20 starts and $2,438,600 in prizemoney when trained by Peter Moody.

Her gr one wins included the 2009 Coolmore Classic, 2009 Myer Classic, 2010 CF Orr Stakes, 2010 Futurity Stakes, 2010 Queen Of The Turf Stakes and 2011 CF Orr Stakes.

• Reliable Man, winner of the 2011 French Derby, is a late entry for the Caulfield Cup.

Reliable Man, trained by Alain de Royer-Dupre, has been entered for the Cox Plate.

Reliable Man ran fourth to So You Think at Royal Ascot in June and fourth in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

Leadfoot (Peter Moody), Call To Arms (Mick Price) and Grand Emperor (Dean Howard) are late entries for the Caulfield Guineas.

The unraced Volume One is a late entry for the One Thousand Guineas.
