The rider is looking to put a frustrating day of riding at Cromwell behind her, and has a full book of eight rides on today’s programme.
Wynne also rode in all 11 races at Cromwell and was right in most of the finishes where she landed 10 top-six placings. Adding to the frustration from a day of almosts was a five-day suspension handed out to the jockey.
"That’s racing. You have to take the good with the bad," Wynne said.
Wynne rates the Michael and Matthew Pitman-trained sprinter Kinagat her best chance "on paper" to notch a win. The 5yr-old returns to his home track after top-five finishes in the Stewards and Pegasus handicaps during New Zealand Cup week.
Although they have been partners in trackwork on several occasions, Wynne and Kinagat have combined only once on race day. It resulted in a win on the Riccarton track, over today’s distance. Wynne, Pitman and Pitman team up in four races today and look to have solid chances in all of them.
Mr Typhon ran fifth in a stronger race on the first day of cup week, and was much better suited to his wider draw in race 7 today, Wynne said. Another two drawn out for the trio are Susie Wolff (race 4) and Prince Ransom (race 8).
Susie Wolff looked desperately unlucky at Cromwell on Sunday and would be a good chance if she handled backing up quickly, Wynne said.
Wynne’s remaining rides are Galisini (race 1), Mister Spiderman (race 2), Clara Jane (race 3) and Moreira (race 5).
