Otago crews make finals at national championships

Otago crews had a reasonable day at the national championships at Lake Karapiro yesterday.

University’s Gabby Hunter and Josie Cook finished third in the women’s club double sculls semifinal to clinch a finals berth.

In the men’s senior single sculls, Oamaru’s Jared Brenssell finished third in his semifinal and Dunstan’s Simon Smith was also third in the other semi. They are both through to the final.

Oamaru’s Brady McNeill and Jack Smith won their semifinal to progress  to the final of the men’s club double sculls. The pair will be joined by Dunstan duo Jacob Flanagan and Greg McLaughlin, who placed second in their semifinal.
