Dunedin could yet host an All Black test this year.

New Zealand Rugby has put Forsyth Barr Stadium on standby for the second Bledisloe Cup test between the All Blacks and Wallabies on October 18, pending Auckland’s Covid-19 alert level status.

"We are confident the match will go ahead at Eden Park, but we are also making responsible contingency plans as we have all the way through Covid-19,’’ NZR professional rugby and performance general manager Chris Lendrum said yesterday.

"Our preference and intention is to play the match at Eden Park, but if we can’t have crowds due to alert levels we will look to move the match to Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin."

Dunedin was supposed to host a one-off test between the All Blacks and Scotland in July but it was cancelled because of the pandemic.

The stadium previously hosted Bledisloe Cup tests in 2013 and 2017.
