Otago hooker Liam Coltman may have just edged ahead in the race to be the third hooker in the All Black squad.

Coltman will be available for Otago for the next two games.

He will start off the bench in tonight’s match against Northland and will also be able to play the match against Bay of Plenty in Tauranga on Sunday.

He will then go back into the All Black camp in Hamilton for preparations for the test against Argentina on September 10.

North Harbour hooker James Parsons, who was on the bench against Australia in Wellington last Saturday, has been released from the All Blacks squad and has gone back to his North Harbour team.

Parsons, who got on for just over 10 minutes on Saturday night, will not be involved in the test build-up in Hamilton.

That leaves Dane Coles, Codie Taylor, who is coming back from a head knock, and Coltman as the three hookers in the All Blacks squad.
