New jersey still black but 'stronger'

The world's greatest rugby team is due to release a new version of one of its most iconic symbols - the coveted All Blacks jersey.

No surprises about the colour - it is still black.

But Adidas has announced it will be the "strongest ever'' jersey in All Blacks history.

The new shirt will be shown off at an official launch on Friday at the Adidas Newmarket store in Auckland.

Three All Blacks players will also be at the event; although they have not yet been named.

Short video clips promoting the new jersey have been released via social media in the lead-up to the event, with the hashtags #BlackReinforced and #ForceOfBlack.

The collar, which in the past has been white, is back to black.

The Silver Fern on the left side of the shirt appears to now be pure white, rather than the grey hue it has been previously.

Blindside flanker Jerome Kaino is featured in one of the clips sporting the different jerseys over the years.

He proudly flicks up his collar and punches his chest as his jerseys change - slightly - in a puff of smoke each time.
