Smith's baby boy born at Dunedin Hospital

Highlander Aaron Smith has two reasons to be happy after his partner gave birth to their baby son at Dunedin Hospital on the same day he was picked for the All Blacks World Cup squad.

Smith and his partner Teagan Voykovich announced the news their baby son was born yesterday on social media today, with Smith posting on image of himself carrying his baby son down a hallway in the hospital.

Voykovich shared the baby's name in her Instagram post: "Welcome to the world beautiful boy - Luka Fox Smith - 28-8-2019"

The pair announced their engagement in March while Smith was on an injury enforced break from playing for the Highlanders.

After being part of the All Blacks side to lift the Webb Ellis Cup in 2015, Smith will be seeking his second World Cup title in Japan next month.
