Four Otago University players have been named in the New Zealand Universities men’s team.
Two of them were members of the well-performed Highlanders under-20 team this season.
Will Stodart, fresh out of St Andrew’s College (Christchurch), is a lock or loose forward, and former St Peter’s College (Auckland) star Jeremiah Asi is a blossoming winger.
The other Otago representatives are mobile prop Carlos Policarpio and fullback Jermaine Pepe, who both also made the Universities squad last year.
New Zealand Universities will play an Ellesmere XV at Prebbleton on August 10, and Meads Cup champion South Canterbury at Pleasant Point on August 13.
A women’s team, yet to be named, will play a Cantabrians XV on September 25 and the New Zealand Defence Force on October 1.
