Athletic Marist ground out an error-riddled 32-28 win over Excelsior in the North Otago premier rugby game at Whitestone Contracting Stadium today.

Excelsior, seeking a second straight win, led 21-20 with 10 minutes to play but Athletic Marist finished with a bang.

Old Boys got a decent fright at Kurow before posting an eighth straight win.

Kurow led 24-19 with 15 minutes to play before Old Boys roared home to win 38-24.

Valley beat Maheno 22-15 in the all-country clash at Maheno.
