Old Boys started and finished strongly to post a seventh consecutive win in North Otago premier club rugby today.

The defending Citizens Shield champions beat Athletic Marist 42-12 in the only game played this weekend.

Old Boys led 28-0 at halftime, and even though Athletic Marist fought back well in the second half, elusive halfback Inoke Naufahu scored two late tries to blow the score out.

The two other games were played on Thursday night. Excelsior got its first win of the season, beating Maheno 14-13, and Valley upset Kurow 34-30.
