But today the Highlanders are going to hitchhike.
The squad is heading to Alexandra for a couple of nights of training and bonding and will have to get there under their own steam.
The Highlanders management team has decided the 38 players will not bus to Central Otago but will have to catch a ride with anyone who is willing.
The players will team up into pairs and will be given $10, a couple of Highlanders flags, a piece of cardboard and pen and be expected to get to Alexandra by 5pm today.
The players will leave Forsyth Barr Stadium mid-morning and will not be able to share rides or separate from their partner.
The journey will be through Lawrence and Roxburgh.
The side will have a training session with junior players tonight in Alexandra before some hard work and play over the next couple of days.
All the side will be participating apart from the side's three All Blacks, Ben Smith, Aaron Smith and Malakai Fekitoa, who are still on leave.
The side will break for a two-week Christmas recess on Friday and then come back together on January 5.
