A young Highlanders team is set to take the field on Saturday night.

The side is resting several stars for its final round-robin match, against the Rebels at Forsyth Barr Stadium on Saturday.

James Lentjes will captain the team from openside flanker and is joined in the loose forwards by Shannon Frizell and Liam Squire.

Aki Seiuli, Liam Coltman and Tyrel Lomax form the front row, while Tom Franklin drops to the bench as Jackson Hemopo and Alex Ainley start as locks.

Kayne Hammington comes in for Aaron Smith at halfback, while Thomas Umaga-Jensen will make his debut at centre.

Livewire utility back Josh Ioane starts at fullback ahead of Ben Smith and Tevita Li returns to the left wing.
