The streak is over.

For the first time since 2016, Southland has won a game in the National Provincial Championship, with a 42-14 walloping of Counties Manukau in Invercargill ending a 27-game losing streak.

The Stags got production across the pitch in an impressive performance, with five different try-scorers getting across the stripe. Lead 18-7 at halftime, Southland came out of the break with their tails up and scored a try just four minutes into the second stanza.

It was the first of three the side scored in the final 40 minutes as they secured what will go down as a famous win.
