The Otago Spirit will be boosted by the return of its captain tomorrow.

Tegan Hollows returns from injury to start at hooker for the side against Canterbury in its Farah Palmer Cup match in Christchurch.

Hollows, who missed last week’s season opener with a shoulder injury, replaces Gemma Millar who is in the reserves this week.

It is one of three changes to the side which beat Hawke’s Bay 29-20 in Dunedin.

Leah Miles comes in at openside flanker,

which forces Zoe Whatarau to the blindside flank, while Bree Thomas drops to the reserves.

France Bloomfield comes in for Hinemoa Watene at fullback in the only backline change.

The side played Canterbury two weeks ago in a pre-season game in Timaru.

On that occasion, it led for two 30-minute thirds, before going down 56-47 after playing a young line-up in the final third.

However, it will be a tough task facing the Spirit.

Canterbury has won the competition’s Premiership division each of the past three seasons.

It notched a 36-10 win over Manawatu last week in Palmerston North.
