Two ORFU board spots available

Two board spots are open at the Otago Rugby Football Union.

Rowena Davenport and Nick Fisher are up for retirement, although they may choose to stand again,

Davenport was last year appointed as the chairwoman of the board, the first woman to be appointed to that position by a major New Zealand province.

Fisher was appointed to the board in late 2018 after Jane Leahy left for personal reasons.

Both Davenport and Fisher can stand again if they wish. Applications close at the end of this week.

The union’s annual meeting is scheduled for March 30 at the Otago University Rugby Football Club rooms.

Our journalists are your neighbours

We are the South's eyes and ears in crucial council meetings, at court hearings, on the sidelines of sporting events and on the frontline of breaking news.

As our region faces uncharted waters in the wake of a global pandemic, Otago Daily Times continues to bring you local stories that matter.

We employ local journalists and photographers to tell your stories, as other outlets cut local coverage in favour of stories told out of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

You can help us continue to bring you local news you can trust by becoming a supporter.
