The All Blacks Sevens have fallen to hosts South Africa in the South Africa Sevens in Port Elizabeth this morning.
In a repeat of last year's final, defending champions South Africa made it two in a row with a 26-17 victory over the series champions New Zealand.
New Zealand opened the scoring through Sherwin Stowers but South Africa hit straight back with two tries to Philip Snyman and Cecil Afrika.
Joe Webber capitalised on Afrika's sin bin to reduce the deficit to two just before halftime as the All Blacks Sevens went into the break down 12-10.
Two minutes into the second half Kwagga Smith broke from the back of a ruck on halfway, offloading to Seabelo Senatla who did what he does best making a bee line for the corner setting up 19-10 lead before Webber responded for the All Blacks Sevens reducing the margin to two once more with five minutes remaining.
Smith stretched the lead out to nine points with South Africa's fourth try with 90 seconds to play securing the title for the hosts.
South Africa sit on top of the series standings with 59 points, eight points ahead of Fiji. New Zealand are third on 47.
New Zealand cruised into the final after thrashing Argentina 29-0 in the semifinals.
After a great try-saving tackle by Argentina's Axel Muller down the right wing Sam Dickson opened the scoring for the All Blacks Sevens in their semi final.
Controlling much of the possession, a try to captain DJ Forbes gave New Zealand a 10-0 advantage at the break before Tim Mikkelson, Joe Webber and Dickson continued the roll in the second half while keeping Los Pumas scoreless to set up a mouth-watering clash with South Africa in the final.
