Prop Kevin Skinner, halfback Lindsay Townsend and flanker Keith Nelson will become the latest Otago players to receive their All Black caps on Friday.
The New Zealand Rugby Union is holding another ceremony, the fourth of six being held this year, to give caps to All Blacks who did not receive them between World War 2 and 1997.
This one features 35 players and will be held on the eve of the Bledisloe Cup clash at Eden Park.
Skinner (81) is one of the revered figures in Otago and All Black rugby, as much for his unflinching style as his technical proficiency.
He famously came out of retirement for the final two tests in the great 1956 series against the Springboks and helped the All Blacks to a series win.
Skinner, educated at St Kevins College, played 63 games (20 tests) in the black jersey between 1949 and 1956.
He played 47 games for Otago out of the Pirates club.
Townsend (75) played twice for the All Blacks, in the first and third tests against Australia in 1955.
He represented Otago 35 times while playing for Otago University and Southern.
Nelson (70) played 18 games, including two tests, for the All Blacks between 1962 and 1964.
He earned 25 caps for Otago, playing for Otago University and Clutha, and later captained Auckland.
Other prominent All Blacks to get their caps on Friday will include John Graham, Sid Going, Bryan Williams, Andy Haden, Andy Dalton, Joe Stanley and Jonah Lomu.
