Disappointing tournament for McLachlan

Queenstown doubles specialist Ben McLachlan has had a disappointing time at the French Open, failing to get past the first round in both his events.

McLachlan, ranked 31 in doubles, fell in the first round of the
men's doubles as he and Jan-Lennard Struff lost 6-3, 6-3 to Frenchmen Jeremy Chardy and Fabrice Martin.

In the mixed doubles, he and fellow Japanese player Eri Hozumo lost 6-1, 3-6, 10-6 to Neal Skupski, of United Kingdom and Maria Jose Martinez-Sanchez, of Spain.

McLachlan changed his allegiance to Japan in June, 2017.
