She has secured a place in the Parnell team for the Auckland-based professional interclub competition, the Caro Bowl.
She plays her first match tonight and will be in exalted company, with team-mates including a German woman ranked in the top 400 in the world, and former national Fed Cup players Pavlina Nola and Rewa Hudson.
Interest was expressed by northerners after Scott won four out of five games in the national 16 and under teams event in January at the tough No 1 position, losing only to national titleholder Imogen Golder.
Scott has another full year in the grade.
She backed this up by finishing third in the national junior championships in April.
However, the step up to playing seasoned adults with extensive international experience will be a stern challenge, especially with a lack of hard matchplay recently.
Scott has dominated all junior tennis locally, including winning boys titles, and she is the Otago open champion and player of the year titleholder.
She will follow up her Caro Bowl first round with entry into an ITF junior (18 and under) tournament in Auckland before returning.
The fact that an Auckland club considers it worthwhile to fly Scott north from Dunedin each week shows she is held in high regard and suggests she is well on the way to a college scholarship or professional career.
