McIver's Oxford Men's Shed members have had a busy few months working on their various projects.

Shed chairman Raymon Charles says members have been busy helping the community with repairs to items, as well as making objects for their own use.

''One member has spent a huge amount of time and effort building a flight simulator which is now set up in his garage.

''He decided it could be better, so he has set about doing a rebuild which will turn it from a static position moving screen to a moving platform and screen.

''It will make it so realistic it will be just like being in a real aircraft.''

This year the shed committee has opted to not have the ''Spring Into Oxford'' fun day this year, Mr Charles says.

''It has been cancelled due to the number of other similar events being run on the same day.

''It is hoped that the shed will have a stall at some of the regular markets held in the area so the public will have a chance to purchase some of the great woodwork items we make and sell as Christmas gifts, so keep an eye out for the stall at your local market.''

Mr Charles says shed members are also making a ride-on electric-powered model of a jeep.

It will be raffled to help with the operating costs of the shed.
