Ben Harper and Peking Duk will play at one of Christchurch’s biggest music festivals.

Drax Project, Lime Cordiale, The Black Seeds, Savage, The Upbeats, Pitch Black and The Settlers were among the first release of acts announced for Electric Avenue on Thursday morning.

The one-day multi-stage festival planned for February 22 is expected to draw a crowd of up to 20,000.

Multi-Grammy award-winning artist Harper will be joined by his live band the Innocent Criminals.

Peking Duk will bring their full live show to Electric Avenue for the first time, after emerging onto the scene in 2014 with their multi-platinum single High.

Festival director Callam Mitchell said the line-up would be their biggest yet.

"We strive to continue to bring Christchurch a diverse range of world-class acts and this year is no different with a wide selection of artists across varying genres".

More headline acts will be announced at a later date.
