Gunshot reported in Christchurch

A police cordon was put in place on Thursday in the Christchurch suburb of Linwood after reports of a gun being fired.

A person with non-life threatening injuries turned up at Christchurch Hospital following the incident.

They had reportedly been shot in the leg and did not take an ambulance to the hospital.

Police were called to the incident on Stanmore Rd about 11.30am after a gun shot was heard.

Police were examining a scene on England St and the cordon was in place between Hereford and Worcester Sts.
