Police are no closer to locating a Japanese tourist who has now been missing in the Canterbury area for a month.

Tokuichi Sako, 77, was last seen in the Templeton area on February 27 driving a late model white Toyota Hilux Ute, with the registration plate JTD982.

Police made an appeal for the public’s help to find Mr Sako on Tuesday, due to concerns for his well-being and safety.

However, on Friday a police spokeswoman said there has been no updates on his whereabouts.

Anyone with information on where Mr Sako may be is urged to call police on 105 and quote file number 200316/2523.
