Person taken to hospital after dog bite

A person was taken to hospital after reportedly being bitten by a dog in New Brighton on Sunday.

Police received a report about 2pm that a person had sustained dog bites at a property on Owles Tce, a police spokesperson said.

A St John ambulance spokesperson said one person was taken to Christchurch Hospital with moderate injuries.

Police said animal control officers had been advised of the alleged incident.
