A train blocked traffic on a busy Christchurch road for about 20 minutes after it broke down.
The train stopped on the railway line on Fendalton Rd, between Clifford Ave and Jackson Rd, about 8am on Friday.
Police directed traffic until the freight train's mechanical fault was fixed.
