A person has died after a two-car crash in Ashburton yesterday.
Emergency services responded to the serious crash on Maronan Rd, Tinwald, about 6.10pm on Tuesday.
It appeared one person had serious injuries, a police spokeswoman said.
The road was closed and diversions were in place.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said two fire crews helped police with scene safety and patient care,
There was no indication that anyone had been trapped in the crash, the spokesman said.
