Too many cooks did not spoil the broth - they made it better.

More than 60 cooks prepared 71 dishes from 19 different cuisines and shared it for all.

Ashburton council recently ran another of its Round the World lunches.

The idea is to celebrate staff diversity and to raise money for a charity. This time around, it was the Salvation Army. $320 was raised.

Staff nominate to be chefs and prepare a dish that might be from their home country.

Non chefs pay a small fee plus a pantry item to eat. Here, the chefs line up with their food and flags denoting country of origin.

The lunch was organised by Kathy Hoy. It is the fourth Round the World lunch organised at the council.
