Scholarships have been presented by Ashburton Musical Club to two talented young musicians.

Katie Gluyas and Eva Bedggood each receive $700.

Katie Gluyas plays piano and drums and is a Year 12 student at St Margaret's College.

She will put the scholarship money towards the fee of a university music performance course that she is auditioning for in 2020 at the University of Canterbury.

Eva Bedggood plays piano, trumpet and guitar and is working towards her Grade 8 trumpet exam.

Next years she begins STAR courses at the University of Canterbury and for the past two years has been a member of University of Canterbury Christchurch Youth Orchestra.

Both scholarship recipients are regular performers at Ashburton Musical Club concerts.
