A small number of properties were evacuated due to a gas leak in a North Canterbury township.
A police spokeswoman said said the gas leak was on Rapaki St, Pegasus and reported about 12.25pm.
Fire and Emergency NZ were on scene and properties were evacuated as a precaution for about an hour.
