One treated for smoke inhalation after Kirwee house fire

One person was treated for possible smoke inhalation at the scene of a house fire in the Selwyn district this morning.

Emergency services were called to the fire on Hoskyns Rd in Kirwee about 11am on Friday, a Fire and Emergency NZ spokesperson said. 

The person who was inside the house when the fire started was treated for possible smoke inhalation.

Crews from the Kirwee, Burnham, Darfield and Rolleston stations were called to the blaze.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, the spokesperson said.
