Two climbers have been airlifted from Mt Earnslaw in Mt Aspiring National Park after an avalanche this morning.
A police spokeswoman said a helicopter was dispatched after they were notified of the avalanche on Mt Eanslaw, which is north of Glenorchy, just before 8am.
A St John spokesman said two patients were transported to Lakes District Hospital, one with moderate injuries and the other minor.
