Police were searching on Monday for one of two men who opened fire at a Kansas City, Kansas, bar over the weekend, killing four people and wounding five others.
Both accused gunmen, Javier Alatorre, 23, and Hugo Villanueva-Morales, 29, have been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting at Tequila KC Bar shortly before 1:30 a.m. CDT on Sunday.
Alatorre was taken into custody across the state line in Kansas City, Missouri, on Sunday afternoon, Kansas City Police officials said, while Villanueva-Morales was on the run, considered armed and dangerous.
Alatorre was being held on $1 million bond.
Police said the five wounded victims, all suffering from gunshot wounds, were expected to survive.
The two men are accused of returning to the club armed with handguns and shooting at employees and patrons about two hours after a dispute there that led to one of them being ejected.
Police have not elaborated on that dispute, but the Kansas City Star reported that one of the suspects had to be removed from the bar by four people after he threw a cup at a bartender for refusing to serve him.
The Star said the man had started another fight just outside the bar before midnight.
Police arrived to a scene of chaos after they were alerted to the incident, as the few dozen people who had been in the bar were running out. The suspects had fled and there was blood on the street, police spokesman Thomas Tomasic said.
The deceased were identified as Martin Rodriguez-Gonzalez, 58, Francisco Anaya-Garcia, 34, Alfredo Calderon, 29, and Ebar Meza-Aguirre, 29.
