Pipe-bomb threat in Dunedin made over social media

    A pipe-bomb threat made over social media last night has prompted Dunedin police to make inquiries.

    Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen said police were alerted to the threat about 5pm, prior to a meeting of Otago property investors in Tahuna.

    The threat of a pipe bomb at the meeting had been made over Instagram.

    The meeting appeared to go ahead, Snr Sgt Dinnissen said.

    The person who made the threat had not been located, and police inquiries were ongoing.
