Search teams continue to scour Lake Wakatipu

The search for a missing fisherman in Lake Wakatipu near Glenorchy has resumed, with the assistance of the Police National Dive Squad.

Senior Sergeant Paula Enoka, of Queenstown, said the squad's divers would search a slightly expanded area of the lake today, and a search and rescue would scour the shoreline again.

Yesterday afternoon, dive squad members could be seen entering the lake at the mouth of the Buckler Burn, just south of the township’s edge.

A dozen emergency service officers were at the lake and police said family of the missing man were also present.  The search was suspended at 5pm.

Snr Sgt Enoka said the New Zealander, who was not a local, was reported missing about 3.20pm on Sunday.
