Two-time Rugby World Cup-winning All Blacks captain Richie McCaw has completed a tough first day in the Kathmandu Coast to Coast.
McCaw completed stages one and two in a time of 5hr 34min 44sec on Friday.
He is competing in the two-day tandem section alongside teammate Rob Nichol.
The mountain run stage was adjusted due to high river levels in the Otira and Deception rivers and saw the competitors run a mix of Sate Highway 73 and the Bealey River.
