Canterbury spinner involved in one of the strangest dismissals ever

Canterbury captain Cole McConchie has taken one of the strangest and luckiest dismissals of the summer during New Zealand A's match against India A at Hagley Oval.

The off-spinner dismissed Hanuma Vihari on Thursday when the Indian batsman played a full blooded sweep shot into Rachin Ravindra's shin at short leg.

The ball then ricocheted off Ravindra and into the gloves of diving wicket-keeper Dane Cleever.

The dismissal was one of three for McConchie as New Zealand A bowled India A out for 216 in the 55th over. The four-day match continues until Sunday.

Vihari would be ill-advised to purchase a lotto ticket in Christchurch this evening.
