Liz Wilson has earned a few weeks off. The 52-year-old Dunedin runner is back in town after a successful month competing at the world masters championships in France and the IAAF world athletics championships in Beijing.
The Masters Games are still more than five months away but the event was launched at Toitu Otago Settlers Museum last night with former world champion cyclist Alison Shanks announced as an ambassador.
The next New Zealand Masters Games in Dunedin will proceed despite the organising trust confirming it is struggling to meet budget expectations in the run-up to the event.
