After releasing their new single North End late last year, Dunedin alt-rock quintet Ivy have embarked on a ‘‘South End’’ South Island tour.

This includes a home-town gig this Saturday night, February 10, from 8pm at Moons, 286 Princes St.

The song, which blends funk and rock elements together, reflects Ivy’s favourite creative space in the city.

Ivy lead vocalist Jesse Hanan said the band did its song writing and rehearsal at the North End rowing club on the shores of Otago Harbour.

‘‘It is a stunning and dramatic environment for us to create in and we have tried to capture this with our music

‘‘We couldn't be more excited about the release - it's a song that's very close to our hearts.’’
