Ravensbourne School pupils dressed in Victorian costumes to welcome parents, former pupils and community members to a School Heritage Museum Night last week.

Junior teacher Anne White said children were able to showcase their learning in a rich and authentic way by creating a museum display and sharing what they had learned with the local community.

Local author Susan Wardell wrote an account of the night, saying "head curator" Sylvie Wardell (8) gave an introductory speech, alongside her assistant curators, all dressed in heritage attire.

Special guest Margaret Manning, grandmother to current pupil Alice Manning (9) — the third generation of her family to attend Ravensbourne School — then shared recollections.

The children were noticeably concerned to hear that in her time at the school, girls and boys had to play in separate areas at lunchtime.
