Extra crews called in to fight fire at Tākaka resource recovery centre

Extra firefighting crews are being brought in to help battle a blaze at the Resource Recovery Centre in Tākaka.

Nelson firefighters are on their way to assist the volunteer fire service with the blaze, which started just after 9am on Monday.

A Fire and Emergency NZ spokesman said the fire was still going in a waste bin and he was not sure if there were chemicals involved.
