Three people have been injured after a two-vehicle crash on Main North Rd in Kaiapoi.
A police spokesperson said the crash was reported about 2.25pm on Friday.
A St John spokesperson said three ambulances were called to the crash scene.
St John transported three patients, all of them in moderate condition, to Christchurch Hospital.
Motorists should avoid the area if possible and expect delays.
