A section of State Highway 6 is closed in Southland after a truck carrying bitumen crashed this morning.
Police said the single-vehicle crash occurred between Winton and Lorneville around 6am.
The driver was not injured, but bitumen has spilled from the truck.
The highway is closed between Dejoux Rd and Gap Road West.
Motorists are asked to follow the directions of emergency services staff.
