Margaret Morgan
The University of Otago has appointed its first director
of quality advancement.
Margaret Morgan will oversee the quality advancement unit,
which conducts departmental reviews, graduate and student
opinion surveys and quality forums and prepares the
university for regular academic audits.
Announcing the appointment yesterday, academic and
international deputy vice-chancellor Prof Vernon Squire said
the new position of director replaced that of manager to
reflect the size and importance of the role.
"It also reflects my vision for wanting the quality
advancement unit to have more presence and visibility," Prof
Squire said.
At present, Ms Morgan is director of policy and programmes in
the university's health sciences division and the general
staff representative on the university council.
