CD reviews: Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra

It's ''go big or go home'' for any vocalist fronting Jools Holland's robust orchestra, and on this collection of Holland's collaborations with high-profile female artists it is the singers with the biggest pipes who fare best.

Savvy blues singers such as Ruby Turner (Jumpin' In The Morning) and Joss Stone (Letting Me Down) revel in the big-band setting while lesser talents such as Kylie Minogue (Should I Stay Or Should I Go) and Rumer (Lost Mind) are exposed.

The otherwise reliable KT Tunstall (Night And Day) makes a poor choice in taking on  much-revered jazz standard.
