Sky Television has announced its SoHo subscribers will be able to watch the first episode of the second season of Game Of Thrones on iSKY from April 3.

"We were blown away by the phenomenal response to Game of Thrones when it launched on SoHo last year. Viewers really embraced the show and the characters that George R.R. Martin has created," channel manager Mike Radics said.

Because of unprecedented interest, fans of the series can whet their appetite for the new season with an advance preview within 24 hours of its broadcast on HBO.

"We are delighted to launch the series on SoHo so soon after the international premiere. And after last season's shocking conclusion, we understand fans have a huge desire to catch up with their favourite characters as quickly as possible, which is why we're offering the advance preview as an added bonus to SoHo subscribers," Mr Radics said.

The second season will officially launch on Monday, April 16, with a double episode at 8.30pm. Subsequent episodes will screen just seven days behind the United States.

"Anyone yet to discover Game of Thrones will be able to catch up on the entire first season during the SoHo Box Set Weekend on 31st March and 1st April," he added.

Based on the popular book series A Song of Ice and Fire, by George R.R. Martin, the fantasy series chronicles an epic struggle for power in a vast and violent kingdom.
