Eight years ago last month the Kissing Gate Cafe was opened at 2 Swansea St, Middlemarch.It has not looked back, establishing itself as a delightful place to take a break from the city, the road, the rail trail or the Taieri Gorge train.
The cafe has also built up a fine reputation for inside or outside dining, a glass of wine or a coffee.
On what is often described as "the best driving road between Dunedin and Central Otago", the cafe is child-friendly, offers a wide range of brunches and lunches, and is a great spot to find out more about the Middlemarch area and hinterland.
