• How would you describe your personal style?
Individual, unexpected, dark, witty and comfortable.

• Who is your style icon and why?
Actress Tilda Swinton, she is a chameleon. Looks change, but she's always cool.

• What are the five top wardrobe staples you couldn't live without?
A NOM*d T-shirt. I'm currently loving the new season's Nico print, especially on our tank dresses.
Rick Owens trainers or Dr Martens Emils for shoes, either one or the other depending on dress.
A pocket bag for my phone. I have a really old NOM*d one, but we have done a new one for next season, invaluable if you don't have a pocket!
A long skirt, the ankle-grazing variety. I have georgette, sateen and T-shirting options, and love wearing them with trainers!
Baggy pants. I'm rather partial to my dropped-crotch Rick Owens selection.

• Who is your favourite fashion designer and why?
Rei Kawakubo, she loves black.

• What's your biggest fashion faux pas?
Wearing platform sandals on Rangitoto in the '70s.

• Fashion-wise, which decade do you wish you'd been born into and why?
I'm happy with the one I'm in!

• What's your trademark accessory?
Rings.

• What will you be wearing this spring?
Black.
