Elton John is to play in Dunedin on November 25.
Elton John will perform at Dunedin's Forsyth Barr Stadium
on Friday, November 25.
The date was announced today by promoter Phil Sprey of
Capital C: Concerts.
The concert, the first international act attracted to the
stadium, will be a month after the Rugby World Cup ends.
Mr Sprey said the timing was ideal because the cup would be
finished, the Christmas party season would be starting and
few major artists were scheduled about that time.
He expected the timing to help encourage many visitors from
outside Dunedin.
"Many ex-pat Dunedinites have been in touch with us and venue
management over the last few weeks," he said.
It would be Sir Elton's first South Island concert for 20
years.
Booking information, including prices, is due to be announced
next week.
Sir Elton and his partner, David Furnish, became parents of a
son born to a surrogate on Christmas Day.
