Weatherall withdraws

Dunedin city councillor Colin Weatherall has withdrawn from the hearing to decide on plan changes that would allow a redevelopment of the Steamer Basin, after falling ill with a respiratory problem yesterday.

A decision had to be made whether to adjourn until Cr Weatherall was better, or carry on without him.

The latter decision was made, but because Cr Weatherall missed some of the argument, he could no longer sit on the hearings panel.

A quorum of the remaining two commissioners, Roger Tasker and John Lumsden, was sufficient for the hearing.
